“Equip the saints for the work of ministry” (Ephesians 4:12).
We do this through the following four pillars:
Exalt
We believe in exalting God in the study of His Word and in our worship.
Encourage
We encourage others to follow Christ through our example.
Equip
We equip the saints for the work of ministry - the ministry of reconciliation.
Engage
We engage a fallen world for Christ after being equipped at CCWO.
History
We believe that Calvary Chapel West Oahu has been called by God as a Body of believers to fulfill the Great Commission to “Go and Make Disciples.” This involves spreading the Gospel through outreach, evangelism, and missions, as well as a ministry to the whole body, including men, women, youth, children, singles, couples, education, music, small groups, and pastoral care.
Calvary Chapel West Oahu is affiliated with Calvary Chapel Association, which follows the original vision of Pastor Chuck Smith. Pastor Charles served with the regional CCA leader, Pastor Bill Stonebreaker, for many years before stepping out to found CCWO.
Our fellowship officially began in February 1993. Our first mid-week bible study started in Pastor Charles’ home in Makakilo, and we’ve seen steady growth ever since. Our joy in ministry, however, is not in the number of people in seats but rather in the spiritual growth of those God sends to fellowship with us.
On January 7th, 2024, Pastor Pat Kenney from Poimen Ministries officiated the formal ceremony where Pastor Charles Couch transitioned the ministry to Pastor Dan Jacobson, a long-time assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel West Oahu.
We teach the Bible verse by verse and worship the Lord with contemporary music. Our greatest desire is to continually seek God’s direction for this ministry so that He may receive the glory (Psalm 115:1)!
