“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, through the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”

Psalm 46: 1-3

We hope everyone will be safe and healthy through this difficult time our nation and the rest of the world is going through. I know we have to think ahead and prepare necessities for ourselves and family. I am glad that though we may go through this “storm” of uncertainty, the Lord is ever-present in our lives. At times we may feel like the disciples who yelled out to a sleeping Jesus “Teacher, is it no concern to You that we perish?" when they were in the middle of a deadly storm. Jesus woke up and stopped the storm with a word “peace be still.” He then turned to his disciples and asked them “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (Mark 4:40) In the same way it may seem the Lord is not concerned for our lives because of our difficult circumstances but the Lord is able to calm the storm in our hearts by saying to us “Peace my child and be still. I will never leave you nor forsake you.” May the Lord give us peace of mind and heart as we endure this storm.
