“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”  John 15:5

In our sinful nature, we can act in the flesh and pursue adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, etc. (Galatians 5:19-21). As believers and followers of Christ we should be connected and growing intentionally with God bearing fruits of the Spirit “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…" (Galatians 5:22-23). This requires abiding in Jesus. God desires us and we should seek and desire Him in the same way. Lay down our own selfish and fleshly desires for His will and way. When we do, we get to experience his strength, love, peace and joy. Spend time with God in the Word, pray, listen, and worship Him. When we are connected and intentional about our relationship with God, we produce fruit that God cultivates in us. God does the work in us. Fruit-bearing is a result of what He does and not what we do. He truly loves us. Thank you Jesus!
