“looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

–Hebrews 12:2

The word Passion can be defined in many different ways. Among the most common uses of the word in our everyday lives are “intensity” or “a strong desire or deep interest” in someone or something. In light of the Super Bowl game we just had, I can’t help but noticed the intensity in people when they cheer for their team. The strong desire and deep interest for their team to win was evident in their conversation, and the gestures among each other when the team makes a great play. As Christians, imagine if we apply the same intensity in our daily walk for God and a strong desire or deep interest in Jesus – our community can easily be turned right side up for Christ. Jesus exampled this intensity when “for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame” – simply because of His Passion and deep interest for you and me. My prayer is for us to do the same.
